This Might Get Awkward

About Us

Real conversations. Messy moments. And a whole lot of heart.

This Might Get Awkward was born from one honest conversation between two mums.

What started as a coffee chat (with eye-rolls, deep sighs, and yes, a few snort-laughs) turned into something more — a shared mission to bring real, awkward, and ultimately soul-stirring conversations back into the parent–teen relationship.

We are Tammy and Carolyn — two coaches, mothers, friends, and co-creators who believe that parenting doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful.

We’re not here to tell you how to parent. We’re here to invite you into a different kind of conversation — the kind where it’s safe to say “I stuffed that up” or “I have no idea what I’m doing” and still feel like you're doing a pretty damn good job.

What we believe:

  • Connection matters more than control.

  • Conversations don’t have to be smooth — they just have to be real.

  • Teens are wise, weird, wonderful humans (even when they grunt instead of speak).

  • Laughter is a parenting tool. So is crying in the car.

  • It’s never too late to rebuild, reconnect, or try again.

Whether you’re tuning into our podcast, joining us in a workshop, or lurking quietly with a cuppa (or wine — no judgment), you’re welcome here.

No perfection required. Just you, showing up — awkward bits and all.

Let’s make space for the conversations that really matter.
Even if we have to circle back after someone slams a door.
